About
Outbreak 2 is a multiplayer zombie survival game on Retrostudio created by KollowMC. Like with some other multiplayer zombie survival game, there are two teams players of the server will be split into-- survivors, and zombies. As follows, the survivors will have to survive a total of 8 minutes in a single round (with the exception of Defend the train) while killing zombies that try to infect them. Each round is split into 4 waves of survival. If the survivors survive all 8 minutes, they win, and if the zombie infect all survivors, they win. As of now, there are 5 currently available maps to play on.
Lore
As a result of being a zombie survival game, Outbreak 2 does contain some lore, but it is rarely seen throughout the game with some exceptions of the maps. A bit of lore can also be found in a piece of paper that can be clicked on in the lobby. To the right of the spawn is a marked door with a radiation symbol. Should a player have the Kill a Mutant badge, they'll be allowed entry to the locked room, where they can find the piece of paper located next to the dripping uranium by the rusty corpse of what seems to be the author of the page.
Gameplay
As said before, gameplay has players split into two different teams–survivors, and zombies. A survivor's arsenal consists of at least 1 gun, a melee item, and/or any misc. item (such as med-kits, or bandages). During the round, survivors will have to use their knowledge, and strategy with their items to successively defeat and survive the onslaught of zombies for 8 minutes. Should a survive be killed during this endeavor, they will immediately be transferred into the zombies team, and no longer have a chance of gaining a win for their stats. The survivors win if they survive the 8 minute timer.
Players in the zombies team will have to instead hunt down and infect any currently alive survivors during this 8 minute timeframe. Unlike the survivors, a zombie's gameplay is split into multiple different types of zombies, each with their own unique way of playing (such as some using ranged items to attack from afar, and others using brute force to mercilessly kill their opponents). Should a zombie want to play as a specific type, they can use the tokens system while they are waiting to respawn. In order to obtain tokens, zombies will have to land hits on the survivors at least once in order to start gaining them. Then, while they are dead, they can expend these tokens to respawn as a specific type of zombie in the future. The zombies win if they eliminate all survivors (though it won't count as a win for the players in this team).
Each round is split into multiple different waves. This is indicated at the top corner of the screen next to the main timer by a slash indicating x/y (x stands for the current wave, and y stands for the total waves). As survivors and zombies progress through these waves alike, the round will become progressively different as survivors will have a harder time surviving while zombies will have access to more types in the later waves. Currently for any survival map, the maximum number of waves is 4 (previously 5). For the Defend the train map, it is instead 6. During the rare nightmare event, the waves will indicate "5/4".
Badges
Currently, there are 3 obtainable badges, with only 1 providing an in-game reward.
